Implementation Plan
The Appalachian Mountains Joint Venture is a partnership that was founded to coordinate and implement all-bird conservation in the Appalachian Mountains Bird Conservation Region. This plan provides an overview of the purpose of the AMJV, organizational structure, and landscape-level conservation approach.

3 Year Operational Plan
This document outlines the major topics that are priorities to the AMJV and how the Joint Venture and partners will identify and deliver specific contributions to accomplish collective conservation objectives. The Operational Plan provides tasks, products, deadlines, and major contributors for each of the partnership's major priorities and include:

  • Priority 1: JV-wide Desired Landscape Condition Decision Support Tool
  • Priority 2: Improve Structure, Coordination, and Communication within AMJV Technical Committee
  • Priority 3: Habitat Conservation and Delivery
  • Priority 4: Increase Investment and Involvement in Wintering Ground and Migratory Stopover Conservation Work for AMJV Priority Species
  • Priority 5: AMJV Organizational Performance
  • Priority 6: Communications/Education/Outreach
Strategic Communications Plan
This Strategic Communications Plan is designed to promote, coordinate and deliver bird habitat conservation that is founded on Strategic Habitat Conservation (SHC) principles. The plan will guide AMJV’s efforts to implement innovative and targeted communications campaigns over the next five years, supporting the goals and activities laid out in the AMJV Operational Plan. It will advance the AMJV’s efforts to build public and private partnerships for bird conservation by outlining the core components of effective communications campaigns and providing a path for implementation.
